Cultivating Peace

May 26, 2024

“There is a silence into which the world cannot intrude. There is an ancient peace you carry in your heart and have not lost.”

The whole purpose of healing is to rest more often and fully in the higher frequencies of our true Self and Source. To enjoy qualities of experience that give us comfort and relief. To move beyond the noise of the world, the wounding in our psyche.

A quality you may want to replace your old pain and suffering is peace. (This follows on from ‘joy’ in a previous newsletter). Most people say they want more peace in their lives.

Peace speaks of a beautiful, calm stillness. An expansive yet comforting quiet that holds our heart and mind in a nurturing cocoon.

An absence of harsh, conflicting thoughts, emotions, sensations. The end of fear, isolation or lack.

These moments of peace seem to come and go in fleeting, unpredictable ways in our worldly lives. Something that may have brought us peace one time may not the next. If we are relying on external sources for our peace, we are playing a lottery.

Peace lies within. When we stop, reflect, drop inside and reconnect with our deeper Self, we rediscover the peace that is part of our true nature, our spiritual inheritance.

External circumstances like watching a sunset, or connecting with a dear friend or lover, may create the conditions for remembering peace but are really not the cause of it. Outer life gives us moments conducive to peace but are not the source of peace themselves.

So choose to cultivate peace directly by trusting its source and finding it within your very own Self.

Suggestion:

  • What does peace look and feel like for you?
  • What can you give yourself in time and circumstance that sets the scene for remembering your peace?
  • Notice how your willingness to open to peace allows it to emerge.

“The still infinity of endless peace surrounds me gently in its soft embrace, so strong and quiet, tranquil in the might of its Creator, nothing can intrude upon the sacred child of God within.”
