Breathe long and deep

“Breathe deeply, until sweet air extinguishes the burn of fear in your lungs and every breath is a beautiful refusal to become anything less than infinite.”
D. Antoinette Foy
Today let us do a simple exercise together. I invite you to pause whatever you doing for a minute:
- Close your eyes
- Feel your feet on the floor
- Take three long, deep breaths
Then open your eyes and observe how you feel compared with a minute ago.
As everything speeds up and gets more intense, it is easy to find ourselves out of balance. Work, doing, scrolling can exhaust our adrenals and put our minds into overdrive.
Breath is the bridge between mind and body. By lengthening and deepening our breathing, we calm our nervous system, quiet our thinking and allow our spiritual Self to be heard.
So breathe slow and deep, my friend.
“When the breath is unsteady, all is unsteady; when the breath is still; all is still. Control the breath carefully. Inhalation gives strength and a controlled body; retention gives steadiness of mind and longevity; exhalation purifies body and spirit.”
